This book is an excellent step by step guide for leaders and others on how they can create a culture that respects the dignity of people. The principles and practices discussed apply not only to leaders but to all levels of personal interaction. I especially liked the discussion of elements of dignity and temptations to violate dignity, the case studies of successful applications, and the idealism tempered with the realities of changing cultures in organizations. I feel confident based on my problem solving interventions that this book would have helped me immeasurably to help others lead with dignity.

Honoring human dignity could make organizations more productive, more creative, more innovative. Unfortunately, too many "leaders" do just the opposite, consciously or not - and then wonder why there is gossip, conflict, bad morale, and look for someone to blame. If these leaders could find courage to address issues that cause them to violate dignity or others, they will be better leaders, and organizations will not just be better places to work for, but more productive and likely to grow.
