Gorgeous book! A must have for anyone who writes or loves Pysanky. Exquisite Designs ... takes it many steps further by adding new and beautiful interpretations from quilting and art styles. An elegant book filled with the basics of 'how we do it' to exploring and sharing new and exciting ways of writing Pysanky and creating art eggs. The author is a most impressive teacher and artist and her love for Pysanky jumps off of every page. This book is a lovely addition to the library of the experienced writer/artist, and a must-have for the beginner or fan.

This book is loaded with truly exceptionally beautiful designs and ideas, but it is not for the Pysanky beginner. It should be used by - and will benefit - someone who already has a lot of practice in the basics of kistka wax applications and very fine-line drawing. For the experienced Pysanky maker, this book should be on their reading and idea-creating list.

This little book is a must have for any beginner when it comes to decorating Eggs. My head is just full of ideas now.

Beautiful eggs that I have not seen before. This book holds so many different design styles, from Japanese Stencil, Cross Stick lace, patchwork quilts to freestyle art!!! I am so looking forward to tackle some of these designs and I'm inspired by this book to venture out in a more playful way with my eggs now.

Bought this to help me teach a class on Ukrainian Easter Egg craft or pysanky... I absolutely love this book, gave all my students great ideas! the visuals are great and really got my creativity going. The other books I bought gave me a lot of great information regarding traditional designs and this book went further to modern day egging. I absolutely love this book and suggest it to anyone interested in the craft.

This beautifully illustrated and well-written book shows what is possible with Pysanki egg decoration. It is rich with many photos of traditional and contemporary eggs created using this technique. The book not only inspires with examples, but also teaches - how to dye, draw with melted wax and redye the eggs, step by step. I have checked my library's copy out every year for 8 years, and bought a copy to get my brother's family started.Pysanki eggs are great for Easter and also as Christmas ornaments. Examples from the book, team/school logos, flags and quilting patterns work very well as subjects for your eggs, until you start getting ideas of your own.

Hard to follow, partially because the explanations were specific to the manufacturing industry and sometimes the logic was not as obvious to me as to the author. The excerpts from The Goal, however, were excellent and I plan to get that book. I found a reference to another book on Theory of Constraints called Tame the Flow: Hyper-Productive Knowledge-Work Management that I am going to get.

I am surprised how we can get away with going through college without some basic courses that cover toc and process engineering, regardless of the major. A critical topic I dare say

If you have not read any of this man's books you are seriously missing out. My husband had to read a couple of his books for an MBA class and he hates reading novels so he turned it over to me to give him the basic points of the book. The books were so good he even read them and so I bought this for him for christmas. You learn so much from these books; there's so much you can apply directly to your own workplace and life in general. So glad I bought this.

I bought the Kindle version of this book. I am sure this makes some good points, but I did only read about 30 percent into it. There were several spelling//wording/format errors. Because of this I am not sure if this was the reason I found it hard to follow, or if it was the way the book was written originally. I returned it for a refund.

Scarce book from Goldratt's wonderworld.

Its a little smart for my taste but on the second read it becomes much clearer as to what Goldratt is trying to depict. Its a great illustration of where to move resources in modern manufacturing today, and that your problems are not always what they seem.

This doesn’t mean his first two books were simply anecdotic; they are fascinating reading and highly instructive as to how this man himself started out and landed one of the greatest social businesses so far created on the globe: Grameen Bank.I think that without knowing ‘the story’ one would simply be short of believing that it can be done, that we can really erase poverty by the novel institution of ‘social business.’ In fact, this extraordinary man was facing multiple obstacles, and while some of them were to be expected, the main obstacle was always and repeatedly lack of faith, lack of insight that the poor are trustworthy loan takers, and business partners. He didn’t want to establish a bank, he started out with working with banks, standing as a guarantor, and increasingly the banks were unwilling to cooperate with the argument that the poor ‘do not qualify for loans.’ As there was no real cooperation thus with banks, he simply resorted to the ultimate solution: to start a bank all by himself.I especially liked the Introduction of the book which is written in a very fluent style, outlining and anticipating the main ideas presented in the book.

This book was an assigned reading as part of a Social Business Course. An inspiring and Brilliant look on how we as humans can help other humans. Yunus paints a picture on how it can be done, and what has already been done with Social Business, not charity. Applying business world savvy to the solving of the worlds problems. Loved it, I will be also buying other books of Yunus that I am assigning myself to read!

This may be the solution to serving the needs of under privileged humanity, while reducing those endless requests for non-profit donations, grants and gifts. Social business companies make profits where ever possible and provide quality services that are cost effective, ethical, professional, and timely. Profits are spent doing for those in need, including many who can't pay. Investors get 100% of their contributions back, but not dividends or interest. A wonderful idea whose time has come! Loved this book. It inspired me this much that I went to Paris to attend Yunus' Social Business Conference and had the chance to meet him personally. He is one heck of a man! If we just all had the guts to implement this model...the world would really be a better place! Mohammad Yunus is amazing. This book (and his previous book about ending world poverty) is such a simple, clear and yet profoundly insightful description of "Social Business" and how to build one. When I read it, it seems so obvious. I wonder why major Capitalists aren't going "Duhhhh". I think Social Business is the answer (yes, of course along side Profit based business). I am moving to Haiti next year and am going to spend the rest of my life trying to develop them.

Tennessee Williams (1911-1983) was well established as a major talent by the 1944 THE GLASS MENAGERIE. By the end of the 1950s he was easily among the best regarded dramatists in world theatre. But although Williams continued writing until the year of his death, after about 1960 he found both critical and popular success increasingly elusive.SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH opened in 1959 starring a remarkable pairing of Paul Newman and Geraldine Page and ran for about a year--but subsequent stagings and adaptations have not been as successful. A film version starring Newman and Page tampered with original script and emerged as stodgy instead of exciting; a major 1975 Broadway revival lasted fifty performances; and the play has not fared as well over time as such works as A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. It is rarely studied and rarely performed.SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH concerns a handsome drifter named Chance Wayne who has been picked up by a neurotic and has-been movie star with the unlikely private name of The Princess Kosmonopolis and the stage name of Alexandra Del Lago. After a drug-and-alcohol fueled road trip through Florida, the two have arrived at the semi-resort community of St. Cloud, the location of which is not specified but which from other geographic references seems to be on the Mississippi gulf coast.It happens that Chance has specifically come to St. Cloud in the hope of reuniting with his teenage love Heavenly Finley. We soon learn that on his last visit Chance gave Heavenly a nasty veneral disease that ultimately resulted in a hysterctomy, and that Chance has been warned away by Heavenly's father local political power Boss Finley, a vicious racist who is behind the recent castration of a black man accused of seducing white women. Heavenly's Aunt Nonnie and Boss Finley's mistress Miss Lucy warn him away; when Alexandra Del Lago recovers from her stupor and finds that her come-back film was a success, she too urges Chance to forget his young love, accept the fact that time has passed it by, and escape with her to California. But Chance refuses to leave, even though he knows that his efforts are futile, and the play ends with the strong implication that he too will be castrated by Boss Finley's minions.There are several difficulties with the play. The first is that the story is essentially a re-writing of Williams earlier ORPHEUS DESCENDING, which was a horrendous failure on Broadway in 1957 but which is nonetheless a noticeably better script. SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH is also somewhat awkward in its shifting between realism and theatricality, the plot is somewhat implausible, and the second act is weak. But perhaps the single most deadly problem facing SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH is that there isn't a likeable character in the entire play, with the possible exception of movie star Alexandra Del Lago, who ultimately accepts herself for what she is and has the good sense to walk away before the carnage begins. And this too is yet another problem with the play: we are never allowed to see the carnage, we are only left to assume it.All things considered, SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH is not among the genuinely great Williams plays, and indeed Williams would write only one other masterpiece, the 1961 NIGHT OF THE IGUANA, before beginning the rapid slide into alcohol and drugs that sapped his talents. But oddly, the very problems with SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH are what make it interesting, challenging, intriguing; one longs to see a really good staging of it and thereby know for certain if it works better on the stage than it does on the page. Don’t know about the other languages, but the translations from Spanish are pretty inaccurate. Some of them not even close.

It's hilarious! A great gift for the potty mouth in your life! I had originally bought this as a gift for a friend, but someone beat me to it. I tried to return it, but they just issued me a refund and told me no return necessary, what amazing customer service! I can now get a kick out of this notebook for myself and will definitely be buying from this company again!

This is a lined notebook. There is a foreign language word followed by a deginition at the top of each page. Unfortunately the definitions are not AT ALL accurate. Don't buy this, even as a joke.

Not to discount the vast experience of this author, which I definitely acknowledge, but this book is 75% motivational "you can do it!" fluffiness and 25% great ideas. If you need the motivational pump-up, then this book is for you. If you don't (because you already KNOW you can do it or have already started doing it), you'll have to wade through a bunch of that to get to the really helpful meat of the matter. Still, if you can walk away with even one or two good ideas, the read was worth it. I just think it could have been 300 pages shorter.

Fortunately I only spent $1.99 on this Kindle book. I managed to get about 3/4 of the way thru before I just gave up. Like some other reviewers point out the first 40% of the book is all about "believe you can do it"!!! Which is great except I'm past that stage, I'm to the point where I want to understand the ins & outs and logistics of HOW to get investment properties.The book is full of super annoying oversimplifications like "do good deals"....and "buy a property that will appreciate over time"....umm duh! And there are direct quotes of similar nature from supposed millionaire investors like "partner with someone who knows what he's doing"....OMG, I can't believe this book got so many good reviews. And then there are the numerous contradictions like "buy a property in a great neighborhood where everyone wants to live", followed by advice to negotiate the least amount on price for that neighborhood where everyone wants to be. In many parts of the country its a seller's market for the great neighborhoods and you will easily blow your budget in a bidding war for location. Additional contradictions that drove me nuts were "decrease rental turnover by pricing monthly rent fairly" but then followed by the advice in later chapters to "maximize your rental income by charging extra fees for pets, storage, parking, utilities....."At the age of 39 I've built and re-built a solid budget over time but I suppose that chapter might be good for many readers. Additionally, towards the end there is a chapter on taxes which I found helpful. Honestly, I've learned way more about the process of RE investing from some (free) blogs on the web.

I read through the first 125 pages waiting for some actual real estate knowledge to show up. It's all just fluff and telling you that "you can do it" and "have the millionaire mindset". I wouldn't be looking at real estate books if I didn't already think that way. I felt like I was at a real estate workshop with "gurus" trying to sell you on all their products. There are multiple quotes from other "millionaire investors" with pieces of amazing advice such as "If I'm not going to make money, I won't buy it".There is very little in terms of actual knowledge in this book. Do not waste your time.

Has many good ideas...Just could have put all ideas on 1 sheet of paper. Lots of word fill. Maybe some people appreciate stories of success. Personally, I just wanted facts.

Many people are saying this is more motivational than how to. Of course it is. I think it's by design. How to succeed (and the definition of success itself) varies person to person, area to area.I have bought this book for many friends and my recommendation is to find 1-2 things they can take away. Mine are the goals (think, buy, own, earn a million) and the personal balance sheet. This to me is GOLD. I update my balance sheet monthly which both allows me time to reflect on the good and also motivates me when I have a 'flat/inactive' month.I read this book every summer and always pick up something new.

Like most real estate books, it's pretty generic stuff. There's nothing wrong or weird in it, it's just superficial like most other books in this category. It seems like people want to get you hungry to be rich more than they want to give you concrete skills for analyzing good and bad deals and giving specifics. Honestly, I've learned about 100x more from a few property investors in my area over dinner than I've learned from just about any book. It's good for beginners but if you own even one property, you won't learn much.

Excellent book. I own a couple properties and not all the info was new to me and I think you can find much if the info online, but not in a well written and well compiled way like this. I was validated in my thinking and strategy. The positive ‘you can do it’ and mental aspects of the game are very important and helped me. I found the success stories particularly helpful as they show you what is possible and that normal people can do this. I don’t think there was much hype. I would highly recommend it. Written by an experienced real estate guy. I’m giving it to my kids so they can start thinking in this direction early in their lives and ger set until in real estate. I wish I would have heard or read this info 20 years ago. Not sure that reading a single book will replace the need for a mentor unless you’re a complete self-starter, but this ibfonand some basics from my financial advisor got me started.

This was the first book that I have ever read on real estate investing, and oh my what an introduction it was. The book is part motivational and part instructional, which I think it's one of the best combinations for any book out there. After you finish this book, you will most likely want to start investing in real estate, even if it's in small amounts and small increments of time.
