I got this book because we have a timeshare in Cancun and although we love it, we were sick of doing the same old things on the hotel strip and getting ripped off for doing something I could do in the same city for a fraction of the price. After reading Rowicz' book we picked out a nice condo in Puerto Juarez and had a ball. Here are a few of the suggestions we took from the book: Went to Park de las Palapas and had a ball eating local food and buying some jewelry from the locals and talking with a few. In fact we found a little internet friendly restaurant off a side street there and we would go for drinks and use the wi-fi. (The wi-fi, even in our upscale hotel on the strip, stinks!) We went to Playa de North which was absolute heaven. We went to Forum Playa, which is on the hotel zone, and it was exactly as described. We went to La Distillaria and got the tequilla tour. We rode the ADO bus from the airport, air-conditioned and under the bus luggage and saved a TON of money getting to our destination. We did NOT overpay cabs and saved a ton of money. I now use the Duolingo site and am learning Spanish. I love Mexico but I was sick of feeling like I was just in a warmer version of the US and I was sick of getting ripped off. Great book.

This is by far the best guide out there. Sure, this guide isn't for everyone... he even says it himself. If you have thousands of dollars to spend, only want to visit the biggest tourist traps, or if you want to stick with expensive (and overrated) restaurants, this NOT the guide for you. If you're like me, going with a family that is on a budget, that wants to really experience authentic Mexican culture and food, and have a lot of fun while you're at it, this is the perfect thing.Although I'm "Gringo", I have lived in Central America for many years and so I'm familiar with the Latin American culture. However, Rowicz offered many insights that were unique to the Cancun area that I really appreciated, since I had never visited the Yucatan. Sure, he definitely has parts of the book that are geared to young, single adults, but he has overwhelming amounts of useful information for famlies and others as well.In my opinion, the only thing that could make this Guide Book perfect is if he included more information of the surrounding cities of the Riviera Maya, like Playa del Carmen, Tulum, etc. He definitely has valuable information about these areas, but the central focus is on Cancun, just as the title would suggest.I'll say it again: If you know you're not the type of the person that does not enjoy trying new things, experiencing new cultures, or if you have plenty of money to spend, this probably isn't the guide for you. But my wife and kids thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here and can definitely thank Rowicz for providing some great vacation ideas and tips.

Highly recommend this book! But beware, I bought several kindle edition Cancun books and this is the exact same book as "Cancun: This is NOT a Travel Guide", strange thing is these books have different authors so how does that happen???? I'm complaining to Amazon!!!!

We found this book very helpful for finding the offbeat items. This is not a book for the tourist who is content to stay in the resort or only visit the touristy locations. It is the book for those who want to find restaurants where locals eat, and to really get to the know the place.

Unfortunately I need to give a poor review. I did not find this book to be very helpful. It did not have a map, have good instructions for transportation options when arriving from the airport, didn't go into good detail about fun adventurous things to do with children. I would have liked a section on history of the region, details of sightseeing and getting around the area. The cenotes are an awesome adventure in the area and it only had a tiny section with one recommendation dedicated to this topic. Even my son mentioned it didn't give much information. I have used independent travel books for other adventures and they generally have good maps and better details on the area.

This book is more approprite for college students or people on a really limited budget.I was quite disappointed with this guide and figure I mis-understood whom the author's target audience is. In addition, maybe my expectations as to what an "insider's" point of view meant was skewed by the overview description. I was hoping for a good amount of reviews and suggestions with a "local" slant and quite frankly there aren't much of any.If you want to learn about accomodations and restaurants this is not the guide for you but if you want to learn how to stay in a hostel for free then buy this book. While there is a lot of guidance on street food I wonder if the author really thinks the mainsteam tourist are going to risk street vendor food and homemade beveages. Some reviews of local, non-tourist establishments where Montezuma's Revenge won't be a concern would have been appreciated.While suggested sources of discounted admissions were good you can get fairly similar info and discounts from a good hotel consierge; just remember to tip them.The few useful points like don't drink tap water, be careful about buying vanilla and eat some yogurt to ward off the runs are not worth the price of this book.No real info on great trinkets or soveniers to bring home.A couple of high points: I did learn about the tequila museaum and which big box store has the best prices for booze.

Bought this on Kindle and returned it. None of the special "notes" or suggestions showed up in the bordered areas. If that doesn't bother you, there may be information you can find useful. I returned it promptly, so I'm not sure.

I am a huge fan of CM and I love her pnr series, this story is so sweet and sad too in the beginning, as always it is 100% safe. And uber hot!!!

Iâ€™m liking this series more and more. Steamy and fast paced. Chloe and Erik are cute together.

First of all it wasn't bad read. It just lately, I'm going with my gut when giving stars to the books. And this time it wasn't completely sure. Lol.Tough it's the second book in the series, you don't need to read the first to enjoy this one. But if you did read the first, you may be having some frustration reading this one for a few chapters, like I did. It's nothing wrong with it or anything. It just I always have a problem to contain myself, when I know what's comes in the near future of couple. Like here, Chloe and Eriks moment where in the first book. So, I was pretty sure what to expect, and just to wait for that moment to come was killing me.Not to mention that all suffering they lived through, thinking they never be able to be together was hurting me. It was hard to take. At the same tim, some moments between them where so sweet and warm, so you just wanted to wake up nd spank those stubborn wolfs and make them to mate. LolI liked Chloe and Erik. They where perfect for each other. It was nice to meet previous couple, too. Looking forward to see what brings the next book.

**THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS**This review was hard for me because I love supernatural romance and werewolves are a soft spot in particular (thanks for that Kelley Armstrong!). But Beta: Her Alpha by C.M.Steele just didnâ€™t do it for me. Iâ€™ll break it down later to explain which bits worked for me and what didnâ€™t. But I just want to reaffirm that these reviews are subjective and are based upon my opinions, dislikes and likes. That doesnâ€™t mean someone else wonâ€™t read it and give it a 5* review.I felt like the concept for the novel was there. There is a werewolf clan and the book follows Chloe, the sister of the Alpha and Erik, another werewolf in the clan who later turns out to be the beta. In C.M.Steeleâ€™s world, werewolves canâ€™t have sex with anyone who is not their mate. They can instantly tell when someone is their mate and they go into a frenzied heat. Chloe and Erik are attracted to each to her, but arenâ€™t mates, so they canâ€™t have sex and they struggle with the consequences of that. This later proves dangerous to Erik in the book.Now on to the review part, Iâ€™m going to use the concepts of WWW (what went well) and EBI (even better if) so that I can formulate my review better.What worked well was the concept â€“ I liked that there were two people who desperately wanted to be together but couldnâ€™t because they werenâ€™t each otherâ€™s mate. I loved the idea that she was the Alphaâ€™s sister and I think more could have been done with that. Then there are the warring factions within the packs as the two families feel hostility towards each other. This was a good idea and I would love to have seen more of this. However I feel like the author can see it all in her mind, how everything plays out, and in writing it down leaves out crucial aspects as she forgets weâ€™re not in her head with her. Also she adds a lot of information in after the fact, for example Chloeâ€™s dream about Erik â€“ that should have come in before she found out exactly what happened to him, and it would have had a better effect and reinforced their bond. The information about wolf healing also could have been brought in sooner, not after heâ€™s already starting to recover. This goes back to the author assuming that we already know what she does.Another EBI for me would be if more was made out of her being the Alphaâ€™s sister. It felt like her brother just popped up through out the book and occasionally made a remark about being able to hear them and then disappeared again.The same goes for the actual chemistry between Chloe and Erik. I wanted more of the build-up in their relationship; instead I felt a little cheated with a â€˜Eight months laterâ€¦â€™ and the â€˜Four months laterâ€¦â€™ parts. I wanted to see their attraction develop and see more of the issues they faced. Not only that but I felt as though their dynamic wasnâ€™t given enough space before the issues of potentially finding other mates came up, so it felt like for a large chunk of the book they were just making each other miserable with bickering, fighting and crying. For example when Chloe gets asked out on a date by a human, I felt that this part could have been used to explore her relationship with Erik more. I felt like she should have gone and he should have turned up in some desperate attempt to regain control and perhaps something comical happens, like she pours her soup over him. Instead she tells him sheâ€™s going on a date, he tells her she isnâ€™t. So she doesnâ€™t. If asserting his dominance as â€˜Her Alphaâ€™ was important then I assumed that she would be stubborn and feisty as he tries to exert control. But it just fell a little flat. Like I said, the potential was there but it just wasnâ€™t executed to its full capacity.Now with regards to the sex in the book, itâ€™s steamy but a few little phrases just didnâ€™t work for me. I understand that they are werewolves, so I was expecting animalistic aspects and possibly a focus upon having babies. Most supernatural romance novels have this focus upon reproduction, however when Iâ€™m enjoying reading a sex scene, a phrase like â€˜I beg for his pups in meâ€™ or even â€˜breeding herâ€™, pulls me back out of the narrative. I think if this was introduced before the sex scene or even in their thoughts afterwards then I could handle it, but actually during the sexy bits puts me off.My final point is a big one, I felt like the book was anti-climactic. The danger and the conflict in the novel were side-lined to the point where it was almost pointless. Catâ€™s kidnap just didnâ€™t evoke anything in me and it was quickly handled. The same for Ryanâ€™s end, it just felt like the writer forgot there was a conflict and decided that the quickest way to resolve it was to have the antagonist show up and our hero pop two bullets into him. Boom. Ended.This book has potential, I like the idea and some of the set-up, however it just didnâ€™t meet my expectations and left me wanting more information, build up and storyline. I would try this author again because the ideas are there, but the execution needs some fine tuning. Couldn't finish it. Started skimming 1/3 of the way and dropped it at 2/3 of the way. Not even tempted to finish.Hero is the new sheriff in town. He is a shifter that came from Seattle back to a shifter town. Seems he learned to control the wolf so much he insinuated he may have repressed him too much can't get him to flair up to claim his mate. So the book gives us glimpses of the hero and heroine's life together for over year. They are bff with hawts for each other but bc they haven't clicked they avoid taking it further. Hero is wanting to get away bc he can't take seeing heroine claimed by another. Blah blah blah. Anyway, they bicker and she gets her little feelings hurt. She makes dumb decision to date another guy to get him out of her system. Okay wait, thought they can't be together because they are not mates but she plans to get over him by going out with another guy that she can't mate with. Yeah that makes sense... He goes all possessive and is like if I can't have you nobody else can. Full moon and bang his wolf comes out....over year later...and he is both beta and heroine's mate....tear tear. Some action scenes, death scene.... and still couldn't interest me to continue. I don't even care how it ends. That is how little interest I had invested into these characters.Where did it lose me you ask. The beginning. All the skipping forward. The hero being able tame his wolf to point takes him year come out. Hero wanting to move away with tail btw his legs. (If you suspect you some how tamed your beast than do something to bring him up!). Plus heroine's TSTL decision to move on with another man when supposedly they can't even get interested with nobody but their mates. I just didn't buy their love when it finally happened. By the time they got around to it I was cheering for drama from either H or h getting another mate.Little details kill it for me and this one had several things having me scratch my head... Some will like it but not me. Hero was just not alpha enough for heroine in my opinion.

I'm writing this without the benefit of multiple margaritas, shots or beers -- but geez, were the authors under the influence when they released this? Let me be honest -- sometimes mistakes happen -- so releasing a first draft may have been simply an issue of grabbing the wrong file on the computer. And I have to think it was an accident, because these are professional authors, right?But seriously authors -- you need to pull this back, fix it, and re-release it. Unfortunately, the quality problems in this book significantly diminished my enjoyment of what would otherwise be a cute story.And to elaborate -- quality problems include repeated sentences, misspellings and use of wrong words, AND more importantly, non-sequiturs. If you take the time to describe what the characters are wearing, then please remember the description you used two seconds later. Rome went from flannel shirt to white button-down (in same meeting), and gray pants to jeans inside of a page. And please get some consistency on ages -- Rome is 35 (and Hunter same age), Peyton was 30 and 27, and in the set up for the next book, Rome's sister is 26 with Hunter 4 years older (say what?, isn't he 35?)The rating is completely based on quality, not on story.

This book displays some of the worst editing Iâ€™ve ever encountered, and Iâ€™ve encountered some pretty bad stuff. Iâ€™m not referring to small, nit-picky things, but major errors, use of incorrect words (violation instead of volition was used twice) repeated sentences, etc.Also, the formatting is terrible. Between the two, it was frequently difficult to tell who was speaking. I only continued to read because Iâ€™ve really enjoyed some of Meghan Quinnâ€™s books, and hoped this one would also make me laugh. Sadly, I didnâ€™t even find it that funny. Maybe I would have if the continuity werenâ€™t so interrupted...hard to say.If not for the quality issues, Iâ€™d probably give it 3 stars, but I read to escape, and found it impossible to sink into this story.In all honesty, Iâ€™ve never left a bad review for a book before, but until they clean up the quality, I canâ€™t recommend that anyone spend money on this book. Itâ€™s frankly insulting to your readers to release your product in this condition.

Not done reading it yet...but good lord the formatting is TERRIBLE!!! Missing spaces between words...strange chapter placement. Sorry...most people probably wouldnâ€™t care but for me it makes the book WAY less enjoyable.

The formatting is terrible, itâ€™s so hard to get into the story because of the focus it takes to actually read this book. I very much like these authors, and will be happy to update my review once the formatting is fixed and I am able to enjoy the story. But in the meantime, this book is not worth the price, and I recommend waiting until itâ€™s corrected to buy.

I love how the book looks when you flip through it on the site, but as soon as it was downloaded it was a catastrophe. Don't get me wrong - this book is really good. But sometimes two people are speaking in the same paragraph and from how it formatted, I can't tell who in the world is talking to who. And some of the words are smashed together (I know this happens, I've seen it in other books, but I think fixing the format would be helpful).Honestly, buy this book! I love the characters and their sassy attitudes. Just overlook the format and hope they re-release it with the correct version!

I was plain and simple not a fan of this hero...and I use that term loosely. Rome was an arrogant a-hole. I quit about 60% in because I couldn't stand this guy any longer. He is supposed to be a self made business man but I found it hard to believe he was successful considering how he treated his employees. He was uptight and completely demeaning and dismissive toward anyone that worked for him. He had no idea who most of the people were on the "lower floor". How do you not at least know of the people that work for you? He was called a "tyrant" and this wasn't in my opinion in a sexy business mogul kind of way. Here are some of the gems from this guy."Her head shakes, and the dark hair pulled back in a tidy bun at the nape of her neck doesn't budge an inch. All it's missing is a hairnet.""She was a hot mess, knocking drinks over, pulling out her cords while tripping everywhere-"And this is how he talks about the heroine most of the time. His inner thoughts clearly show he thinks very little of her.She quits her position at his company so she can start up her own advertising/marketing company. She is really good at what she does and she works hard at trying to kick start her company. She presents him with a flawless campaign spread to which he absolutely knows she is brilliant. But, does he congratulate her or give her some positive feedback and support. Of course not. Instead this is his reaction...Still, I cannot help giving her a hard time. "I'm going to have to think about it." Even though I'm going to easily hire her and take her on, she needs to learn not everything comes so easily.This is where I checked out. The whole time I am thinking, dear god give me something to hold on to with this guy. Instead I get over half way through the book and there was still not a thing I liked about this guy.It started out really good and I loved the premise of this. I did really like the heroine but her one flaw was what was going on in her head to make her crush on this guy? I wished we got just a little something to see past this guy's jerk off attitude.

Not done reading...is it me or is the formatting off. Own a paperwhite...and the break up of sentences and paragraphs truly distracting. I've been looking forward to this book because I adore both authors...but wow...edited: Took me the day but I did enjoy this one for the most part. Takes a while to get to sexy times...and the break up of sentences truly took away from the flow and was very distracting for me. I don't do spoilers but...I did love the way they started...looking forward to the next one

I think the book is fantastic!Perfect in the sense that it is suitable for a lay person and can take them about as far as they want or need to go into the science.I think the set up of the Contents is really good. It shows that the answers to questions you have been thinking about are inside.My wife is on Actonel and she told me to order her another copy so she take it to her next appointment with her Doctor and give it to her.My daughter, a brand new (PharmD) looked at the book for quite a while and was very impressed. She said that she was not expecting it to go as deep as it does. She says she thinks it is very suitable for a medical professional to use to refresh themselves quickly. She is going to keep a copy close by.I ordered 4 more copies for friends

This is one of the most recent books I could find on the subject of bone health. I checked it out of the Library and liked it so much that I decided I needed a copy in my own library. I am in my 60's with Osteopenia, but this book is for every age. The sooner you read it and apply the tips to your life or your child's life, the better. It is for both men and women.

I am giving this book to everyone in my family. It addresses a topic that most people ignore. Having good bone health is within everyone's reach. It is like having the specialtist (Dr. Schneider) in your own home patiently explaining what you need to know to reach this goal. Sure, there is plenty of technical stuff for the Doctors who will read this; but, she writes so that we all can understand and learn from it. She even summarizes each topic with what she calls The Bare Bones, in case you missed the key points of the chapter. It is a great reference book.

Dr, Schneider's book, Bone Health, is a major contribution to understanding what we need to maintain healthy bones throughout our lives. Two years ago a bone density scan revealed I had osteopenia. My mother had osteoporosis. Bone Health reveals some of the things I've already been doing such as weight-bearing exercises, more calcium and vitamin D intake. However, Dr. Schneider, in a succinct, clear and understandable way, gives us information on all the medications available and some of the cutting edge treatments in development. This book is a must-read for both men and women of all ages. I'm sharing it with my daughter.

Dr. Schneider's book is an essential tool for the care and maintenance of healthy bones. In my opinion, it is a must read for medical professionals and those of us wanting to equip ourselves with the best tools to maintain a healthy productive lifestyle. The exercise and nutritional tips are practical and useful for everyone but particularly for those facing the challenge of maintaining healthy bones.The format is user friendly and the "The Bare Bones" chapter rap ups are concise and to the point. The good news - it's never too late to start caring for your bones. I'm thankful to have come across this book and highly recommend it!!

"Bone Health" was recommended to me by my primary doctor. I am amazed at how comprehensive, useful and current it is. This book provides practical information on a wealth of topics and will give the reader a good understanding of the many aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. Best of all, you can read it cover to cover or focus on the particular topic you are interested in. It is so well written and organized. It is a book you will keep on your book shelf as a resource when questions comes up about low bone density and find relevant information.

What I like about this book is that it includes an emphasis on men's bone health. The author says, "Osteoporosis is arguably the most understudied and underdiagnosed disease in men." I also appreciate Dr. Schneider's comments about exercise, nutrition and alternative medicine. This is a well-researched and easy-to-read book.

This is an exceptional book, written in a clear unstandable manner, it covers everything the average person and doctors not in the field need to know about bone health. Highly recommended.

Which is why it doesn't make character creation any faster. Battletech has always been a super crunchy game. Quick playing, mostly, but slow to make characters/squads/'Mechs/etc.That said, it fills in the holes that A Time of War missed, and so it's still a good buy if you want to play a RP-game in the BattleTech universe.Hopefully the next book for A Time of War will include some kind of narrative way to handle 'Mechs/Vehicles/etc. THAT would speed up play even more.

Good additions to an already fun but complex game
